A close dentist friend asked Scott what he was going to do as a career. So, In 1977 Scott started his career in dentistry with his friend. By 1983 Scott had been an in-house technician for a leading dentist on Pankey-Dawson full mouth rehab for 4 years, owned his own growing lab for 2 years, and fabricated the very first feldspathic porcelain veneers in Utah. (Featured as a full page, close up, cosmetic breakthrough in the Utah Holiday Magazine!)
By 1985 Scott was lecturing to large groups of dentists and dental technicians, as he taught about the breakthrough products of Jeneric Pentron.
In Salt Lake City, Utah, Scott owned the third largest lab While traveling and lecturing and developing new products for the dental field..
He developed several new techniques and products to help dental technicians raise quality and speed up the workflow.
In 1988 Scott developed, packaged, and marketed STARBRITE, the very first ADA Accepted, chairside tooth bleach. It was the #1 selling tooth bleach for 2 years.
While his laboratory grew, he developed whitening toothpastes, mouth washes, breath drops, and chap sticks.
Scott built that laboratory up to over 1 million in annual revenue and sold it. He moved 300 miles away to the town he and his wife grew up in, and immediately started another dental laboratory.
Scott stayed active in helping other laboratories with technical, work flow, and marketing problems, becoming known as a business consultant..
He has lectured nationwide to groups and study clubs of dentists and technicians.
Scott has written several magazine articles and been quoted in many more. He wrote a bench top instruction manual for porcelain laminate veneers. Even in the mid-eighties, the manual sold over 1,000 copies.
Currently, Scott coaches 4 - 6 Laboratories at a time. He directs 3 highly successful study clubs and runs an 18 man laboratory.. He speaks nationally on a regular basis.
